Firm Profile
Scott Morris Architects Inc. is a national firm of architects with a broad portfolio of institutional projects to its credit in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, and NWT, founded in 1981 by Deborah Scott, the managing principal. The firm's original focus is in the highly technical fields of health care, laboratory and educational design where its innovative work has been well recognized through design awards and client commendations. In more recent years the firm has added office/retail environments and residential to its range of specialties.
An inherent part of the firm's approach is to "humanize" the environments it creates. Scott Morris designs buildings that are environmentally responsive and can be adapted to changing needs and technologies. The firm's portfolio of projects is characterized by new, and often innovative, solutions to a variety of design problems - from the most commonplace to the more unusual. In each case, Scott Morris strives to improve the quality of the built environment and meet client demands for an economical product that balances initial capital costs with building life-cycle considerations.
