Situated in a remote Northern Alberta community that is inaccessible by road, Athabasca Delta Community School is an award-winning building designed to accommodate 450 students from preschool through Grade 12. The school is also a hub of the community, supporting continuing education and recreation programs for young adults. The sustainable building design makes use of local, low-maintenance materials and incorporates the heavy timber frame structure of the local vernacular.
