Renovations and additions to a typical mid-century bungalow in Toronto's west end. The result is a 21st century 4-bedroom home for a growing family in a traditional Arts & Crafts style.

In 2003, we made the decision to renovate our 3 bedroom bungalow to accommodate the growing needs of our family. Scott Morris Architects came highly recommended from a mutual colleague.

From the beginning we were impressed by Scott Morris' professionalism and expertise. At our initial meeting the architect walked through our home to assess its potential then sat down with us to discuss our needs and vision. We had no pre-conceived ideas on what we wanted in a design other than functionality so we relied entirely on SMA's creativity. At each subsequent meeting, the design was tweaked until we ended up with a sketch that was functional yet visually appealing inside and outside. We were also happy that the design took into consideration the character of our neighbourhood.

Scott Morris were also involved in:

  • Selection process for a contractor
  • Project management (construction of the house from beginning to end)
  • Interior design

The firm relieved us of a lot of frustrations we would have encountered had we decided to manage this project ourselves.

We are happy with our new home - it is a credit to Scott Morris. Their support, professionalism and quality of work made it a truly collaborative effort and we would not hesitate in recommending Scott Morris Architects.
